What the Phone and Camera Actually Do

The phone gives current tasks and occasional owner messages; one recorded hall encounter also shows the camera in use.

Short answer

What we can say

Check the phone when the environment changes, follow the message that applies to that event, and use its camera when a visual check is needed. The October 10 recordings also show separate warnings about a door, the blinds and the hallway; do not treat any one photo as a universal fix.

Messages are event-specific

In user-supplied October 8 footage, the owner says TV static puts the outside creature to sleep. A separate segment gives a flush instruction for the toilet encounter. These are visible in-game hints, not generalized rules for all anomalies.

The camera example

At about 2:10 in the public walkthrough, a player photographs a tall figure in the hall. In a separate October 10 recording, the owner replies 'Nice picture of the hallway' after a photo. The later Peek a boo result links a failure to that figure reaching the bedroom, but the videos do not show a complete timing window for the photo.

Read the next warning, not only the photo

The October 10 footage also shows the owner saying 'DO NOT OPEN IT' after the hallway-photo exchange, 'Close all the blinds to the house right now' during a different dark-exterior sequence, and 'Avoid the hallway, JUST DO IT' in another run. These are separate observed messages; the edited video does not prove they always arrive together or on a fixed night.

Check the evidence

Video observations come from third-party gameplay, including user-supplied local recordings where noted, not an independent in-game test. Official badge links verify the badge listing, not a full unlock route.

What remains unverified

The reviewed owner messages come from user-supplied edited local footage and are not rehosted here. We have not reproduced the timing, proven that a photo clears each event, or established that the warnings share one trigger.
